PORTLAND, Ore. – Portland Pilots Rowing is back in action with its first and only home races of the spring season this Saturday, hosting the Saint Mary's Gaels and the Seattle U Redhawks at Vancouver Lake.
Portland has hosted the Gaels and the Redhawks three times since 2019, with the Pilots winning four races over that span. Last year, the Pilots' varsity eight squad took first place over both teams with a time of 7:13.7.
The Pilots are coming off a stellar March that saw their first varsity eight take first place at the Husky Open for the third straight season. The race also saw the Pilots finish with their fastest time since 2019 at 6:57.570. The Pilots' performance was good enough to earn them WCC Crew of the Month honors.
The three teams race on Saturday, April 8 at Vancouver Lake. Races begin at 8:40 a.m. Check PortlandPilots.com for more information. Lineups for Portland are below.
