SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Beach Volleyball All-Academic Team for the 2023 season, with Taylor Helle and Noelani Helm receiving the highest honors.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.20, be a starter or important contributor to the team, be of at least sophomore eligibility and participate in at least 50% of their season's competitions.
Taylor Helle and Noelani Helm were named to the WCC All-Academic Team. Helle, a second sophomore political science and communications major, earned her spot with an exceptional 3.97 cumulative GPA. This is the first year Helle was eligible for these honors.
Helm, a senior marketing major, earned her spot on the WCC All-Academic Team with a 3.69 cumulative GPA. This is Helm's first time being named to the all-academic team for the WCC, previously earning honorable mention honors for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Three Pilots earned honorable mention honors from the WCC, including Keilani Mumolo, Grace Zilbert, and Sophie Lee.
"We are so proud of our all academic athletes," said Coach Dylan Hamilton. "Our program prides itself on creating well rounded student athletes, and seeing nearly half our team earn an all academic award brings us so much joy. Congrats to Grace, Noe, Sophie, Taylor, and Kei on their hard work in the classroom this year."
