MCMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Portland Pilots Men's Cross Country opened their season at the Linfield Harrier Classic, finishing first overall in 23 points. 

 

Leading the Pilot men was Redshirt Junior Eliason Kabasenche who finished second overall in the Men's 6,000 meter race with a time of 18:19.5. The Pilots' second finisher was Dalton Kaines in third, finishing with a time of 18:20.6. Paul Law (18:26.0), Nate Lantz (18:26.2) and Isaac McGill (18:27.8) would round out the Pilots' scoring five, finishing fifth, sixth and seventh overall, respectively. The Pilot men would end up taking the overall team title with a total of 23 points, eclipsing University of Oregon's second place finish of 41 points. 

"Wonderful start to the season!" Said head coach Rob Conner. "These Pilots got the job done and we are very proud of them."

 

The Pilots will be racing again at the Oak Knoll Loop Run on Sept. 16, 2023 at Oak Knoll Golf Course, starting at 9:30 a.m. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
