MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. -- The Pilot Men's Cross Country finish fourth overall at the Roy Griak Invitational, led by a 12th place finish overall by Danny Abdala in a time of 24:35.4.
For much of the race, the Pilots ran conservatively, holding onto a sixth place position throughout nearly every split of the race. During the last three kilometers, Pilots Danny Abdala (24:35.4) and Jona Bodirsky (24:37.8) would move up 11 and 10 positions, respectively, to finish 12th and 13th overall. The duo was followed closely by Matt Strangio (24:38.1) who moved up a strong four positions in the last 3k to finish 14th.
The Pilots scoring members were closed out by strong "four-five" runs from Nolan Hosbein (25:03.6) and Teddy Buckley (25:07.5) who finished 34th and 38th, respectively. Hosbein passed a total of 26 runners over the last 3k, more than any other Pilot.
Other strong finishes for the Pilots included Eliason Kabasenche (57th, 25:23.5) and Chris Anderson (82nd, 25:52.1). Individual and overall team scores for the Roy Griak Invitational will be posted below.
