TEMPE, Ariz. – For the second consecutive season Portland's No. 1 doubles tandem of Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge have broken into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) national doubles rankings. The duo is No. 68 in this week's newly released rankings.
Zelic and Pethybridge finished last year ranked No. 69 and were the first University of Portland women's tennis doubles team to earn an ITA Ranking.
The pair have had another phenomenal season thus far, racking up a 9-4 overall record, including 5-1 mark in dual matches this spring at the No. 1 position. The duo is on a three-match win streak over tandems from Washington State, Denver and Montana State.
The women's tennis team returns to the courts this Friday to host Eastern Washington at 10 a.m. at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.
