Box Score PULLMAN, Wash. – Portland freshmen Isabella Marquart and Lexie Flores got their first taste of collegiate tennis and both earned victories as the Pilots concluded play Sunday at the WSU Invitational.

The event was conducted in mock dual style with the Pilots competing against Idaho, Montana and host Washington State.

Marquart won two of her three singles matches, including a 3-6, 7-6, 10-7 win against WSU's Martina Markov on Friday. She then defeated Piper Freeman of Montana 6-2, 7-6 (2) on Sunday.

Flores teamed with senior Aleksandra Dimitrijevic to earn a 6-4 doubles win on Friday against the Idaho tandem of Len Beckx and Valentina Rodas.

Other highlights from the event was winning four of the six singles matches on Sunday against Montana, while sophomores Alaia Rubio Perez and Nadine Arbaizar Martinez beat the WSU team of  Madhu Satishbabu and Markov, 6-4.

The Pilots will now prepare for the ITA Northwest Regional Championships hosted by California in Berkeley on Oct. 11-15.
