EUGENE, Ore. – The Portland Pilots wrapped up a two-match day in Eugene with a split, falling to Oregon 0-5 before bouncing back with a 4-1 victory over Bushnell. With the result, Portland moves to 4-8 overall on the season.
 
In the opening match, the Pilots faced a tough Oregon squad and were swept 5-0. Despite a competitive three-set battle on flight #2, Leonie Freytag and Elin Larsson came up just short, falling 19-21, 21-17, 17-15 to the Ducks. Other matchups saw Oregon take control in straight sets.
 
The Pilots responded with a great win in the afternoon, defeating Bushnell for the second time this season. Portland won four of five courts, including straight-set victories from Wood and Stammberger, Freytag and Larsson, and Ortiz and Bullemer. The final point came on flight 5, where Hannah Debban and Michela Strati rallied from a set down to secure a 9-21, 21-13, 16-14 win. With this victory, the Pilots completed a season sweep over the Beacons, having previously won their first match-up earlier this spring.
 
Up next, the Pilots head to Idaho for the Boise State Classic, where they'll face Saint Mary's and Colorado Mesa on Friday, Apr. 11, followed by CSU Bakersfield on Saturday, Apr.12, and host Boise State on Sunday, Apr 13 at the Boise State Beach Volleyball Complex.
