SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland senior Alaia Rubio Perez was named the West Coast Conference Singles Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday. Rubio Perez won both of her singles matches in straight sets as the Pilots (1-1) split a road trip with Stonehill College and Brown.
Rubio Perez set the tone at the top of the singles singles lineup. She defeated Madison Warren of Stonehill College 6-1, 6-1 in Portland's 7-0 sweep on Friday. The London, England native then was a 7-6, 6-1 winner against Ali Maguy of Brown in Saturday's 4-3 narrow loss.

The Pilots will next be in action on Saturday, Jan. 31 at Washington with a 3 p.m. start at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
