PEEK INTO THE PORT
- The Portland Pilots are 14-10 overall and 8-4 in WCC play after a thrilling 53-50 win over the Oregon State Beavers. The win was Portland's first home win over the Beavers since 2002.
- After struggling in the first half offensively, the Pilots hit six 3-pointers in the second half on their way to a win, turning the ball over just six times.
- Florence Dallow was the leading scorer for the Pilots with a career-high 18 points as well as eight rebounds. It's the fifth time she's led Portland in scoring this year and the 11th time she's scored in double digits.
- Dallow hit the game-sealing 3-pointer late in the fourth to help get Portland the win.
- Dallow's performance helped her earn WCC Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. It's the second week in a row the Pilots have seen a player earn weekly honors.
- Dyani Ananiev scored in double-digits as well for the 14th time this season, adding 12 points.
- The Pilots currently lead the WCC in blocks per game (6.3), turnovers forced per game (21.0), assists per game (17.5) and steals per game (11.1) and also rank second in bench points per game (24.9).
- Nationally, they are fourth in blocks per game, 24th in turnovers forced, 25th in assists, 32nd in steals and 41st in bench points.
- Despite not playing the last five games, Julia Dalan ranks first in the nation in blocks per game (3.42) and fourth in total blocks (65). She leads the conference in both categories as well.
- Dalan's 65 blocks is just one shy of the freshman record set by Rosemary Adams in the 1990-91 season. Dalan is still the only player in the nation to have recorded eight blocks in a game multiple times this season.
- Ananiev also leads the WCC in steals at 59 total steals for 2.6 a game. She is 46th nationally in total steals and 48th in steals per game.
- Ananiev is the leading scorer for the Pilots at 11.0 points per game. She is one of two Pilots averaging over 10 points per game, along with Dallow (10.2).
- Dallow ranks third in the WCC among qualified players in free throw percentage (.841).
- Rhyan Mogel is fourth in the conference in both assists per game (4.9) and total assists (112), ranking 43rd and 48th nationally in the respective categories. Mogel's 1.84 assist/turnover ratio ranks second in the conference as well.
- Mogel was the fastest Pilot to 100 assists in a season since Haylee Andrews in the 2021-22 season.
- The Pilots were picked to finish fourth in the WCC this season, with Ananiev named to the All-WCC Preseason Team.
- Ananiev played in just 10 games last season, averaging 7.4 points per contest along with 1.8 steals. She was a 2023-24 All-WCC Freshman Team selection.
- The Pilots return eight players from last year and add seven newcomers.
- Of the eight returners, none started a game last year. Rhyan Mogel and Lainey Spear are the only two players to have played in every game, with Mogel's 20.6 minutes leading all returning players.
- Florence Dallow, Natalie Fraley, Tiffany Barbosa, Ella Zimmerman and Caitlin Monahan also all return.
A LOOK BACK AT HISTORY
- The Pilots had a historic season in 2024-25, finishing 31-5 overall and 17-3 in WCC play to win a share of the 2024-25 WCC Regular Season Title. It's their fourth title, either tournament or regular season, in six seasons.
- Their 31 wins were a program record and their 17 wins in WCC play were also a new high for the program.
- Last year, they made the WCC Championships final for the fourth time under head coach Michael Meek and also qualified for the WBIT for the first time in program history.
- In the WBIT, they beat the Stanford Cardinal and the Seton Hall Pirates on the road to advance to the quarterfinals before falling to Villanova Wildcats in that round. The wins were the first ever road playoff wins for the Pilots, the first win ever over Stanford and the first ever over a Big East squad.
- Portland led the way in numerous statistical categories last season, leading the conference in points per game (75.7), scoring margin (12.4), steals per game (10.3), turnover margin (4.56), free throws made (16.44), free throw percentage (16.44), free throw attempts (21.08), assists per game (17.3) and assists-to-turnover ratio (1.16).

- Meek has won at least 20 games in five of his six full seasons as head coach of the Pilots, including a program record 31 wins overall and 17 WCC wins in the 2024-25 seasons.
