FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Portland men's tennis has qualified as the No. 5 seed for this week's West Coast Conference Championships and will take on the four-seed and No. 55-ranked LMU in Thursday's opening round at 9 a.m. The tournament will be played at the Green Valley Country Club with semifinals on Friday and the championship match on Saturday.

The Pilots (8-13, 2-5 WCC) have now qualified for the WCC Championships in five consecutive seasons under head coach Aaron Gross.

Portland qualified for the six-team event by winning the final two league games of the season. The Pilots enter the tournament on a three-match win streak overall.

Lone senior Nikola Keremedchiev and redshirt junior Cade Fernando have led Portland with phenomenal dual seasons. The duo is 19-5 overall in doubles including a 10-4 mark at No. 1 dual doubles. Keremedchiev is 16-8 overall in singles and 10-4 at the No. 1 spot. Fernando has played both No. 1 and No. 2 and recorded 19 overall wins and a 12-6 dual record. Tannor Binder and Stefan Skobelev have notched 15 and 14 overall singles wins this year, respectively.
