SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Portland women's tennis had three players earn West Coast Conference recognition, the league office announced on Tuesday. Seniors Alaia Rubio Perez and Dariya Radulova garnered honorable mention All-WCC singles honors, while Rubio Perez and partner Maria Galatescu received honorable mention doubles recognition as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Rubio Perez went 17-14 overall in singles playing at the top spot in the lineup during dual matches. She finished 10-8 in No. 1 dual singles and picked up four wins against WCC opponents.
Radulova finished 10-7 in dual singles at the No. 2 position in her lone season on The Bluff after transferring in from Virginia Tech.
Rubio Perez and Galatescu played at the top of the doubles lineup this Spring and picked up five dual wins after a successful Fall season. They finished with a 14-13 overall doubles record this season.
The Pilots (10-9, 5-4 WCC) tied for the most wins in a season since the 2015 squad finished 17-6 overall. The five wins in league play are also the most since the 2015 team went 7-2. Portland has now qualified for the WCC Championships in four consecutive seasons under head coach Filip Zivkovic.
Portland is the No. 5 seed and faces No. 4 LMU on Thursday at 3 p.m. in the opening round of the WCC Championships being held at Green Valley Country Club. The winner moves on to Friday's semifinals with the championship match on Saturday. Visit the
