FAIRFIELD, Calif. – Portland women's tennis has qualified as the No. 5 seed for this week's West Coast Conference Championships and will take on No. 4 LMU in Thursday's opening round at 3 p.m. The tournament will be played at the Green Valley Country Club with semifinals on Friday and the championship match on Saturday.
The Pilots (10-9, 5-4 WCC) have now qualified for the WCC Championships in four consecutive seasons under head coach Filip Zivkovic.
Portland has reached 10 overall wins for the third time in the last four seasons. It ties the mark for most wins since the 2015 Pilots finished 17-6. The five wins in league play are also the most since the 2015 team went 7-2.
The Pilots are led by senior Alaia Rubio Perez who went 17-14 overall in singles and 15-14 in doubles, playing at the top spot in the lineup during dual matches. Dariya Radulova finished 10-7 in dual singles at No. 2, while Nadine Arbaizar Martinez and Meagan Pearson added nine and eight dual singles wins, respectively.
