SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland women's rowing team completed the fall portion of the schedule by racing three eight's at the Head of the Lake Regatta on Sunday morning in Seattle.
 
The Pilots first varsity eight competed against northwest rivals Washington, Washington State and Gonzaga and posted a time of 18:51.41. UW finished with the top time of 17:24.74, while the Cougars finished second with a time of 17:42.84. The Zags finished just ahead of the Pilots.
 
Washington State's second varsity claimed first place in that event with a time of 18:40.22 and was followed by Washington (18:50.57) and Gonzaga (19:35.32). The Pilots recorded a time of 20:14.95 and finished fifth.
 
And in the final event, Portland's third varsity eight registered time of 19:27.67, which was good for a fourth-place finish behind Washington, Washington State and Gonzaga.
 
The three-mile course began in Lake Union along "boathouse row" before rowers navigated beneath the University Bridge into Portage Bay and through the Montlake Cut to Lake Washington. The course then turned back toward Husky Stadium to the finish line.
 
Portland is not scheduled to race again until March.
