• Portland continues its lengthiest road trip of the season this week, playing a pair of matches in California on the second of three legs during the cuurent eight match trip.
• The road trip began last week on Wednesday with the Pilots falling to UC Riverside (5-2).
• Portland beat CS Fullerton on Thursday (4-3), before falling to CS Northridge on Friday (5-2).
• Sophomore Gabrielle Gorence won all three matches on the outdoor courts while junior Valeska Hoath picked up wins in the last two matches.
About the Pilots...
• Portland owns a 4-6, having picked up its first road win of the year last week.
• Freshman Anastasia Polyakova leads the Pilots with a 7-3 record, while juniors Valeska Hoath and Sabine Fuchs own 6-4 marks.
• Polyakova and Hoath have won five of their last six matches, while sophomore Gabrielle Gorence has won her last three.
• Hoath and sophomore Alice Tucker racked up wins in six straight doubles matches earlier this year.
About San Diego
• Six of San Diego’s seven losses have come by two points or less.
• USD’s primary No. 3 doubles tandem of Maja Sujica and Anna Depenau are a perfect 10-0 in dual doubles.
• Juliette Coupez and Anna Depenau lead the team in singles play with identical 8-3 records.
• Depenau is ranked 97th in the ITA Singles rankings.
About Saint Mary’s
• No. 33 Saint Mary’s enters the weekend with an 8-5 overall record.
• Jenny Jullien is the only Gael currently ranked in the ITA singles poll at No. 88.
• Jullien, the WCC Player of the Month for February, has won seven straight matches and is 10-2 on the year.
