PORTLAND, Ore. --- Freshman Molly Templin is the U.S. Bank University of Portland Student-Athlete of the Month after helping guide the UP first eight to three first-place finishes in April. Templin, who rows from the stroke seat, was also recently voted the team’s MVP.
 
At the Husky Open on April 6 in Seattle, Wash., the Pilots varsity eight finished first in its event with Templin in the stroke seat for the first time.
 
A week later, the first eight again finished ahead of the field at the Covered Bridge Regatta at Dexter Lake, helping the Pilots win their second consecutive Collegiate Team Efficiency Trophy. Portland then topped Seattle U in a dual on April 20.
