PortlandPilots.comThe Portland women's tennis team will play its final two regular season matches at home this week. The Pilots will host No. 57 BYU on Thursday at 10 a.m., and then welcome San Diego on Saturday at 10 a.m. Saturday's match will be Senior Day for Pilot seniors Emily Mahairas and Gabrielle Gorence.
Portland dropped a pair of road matches last weekend at San Francisco (6-1) and Santa Clara (6-1).
Sophomore Maja Mladenovic has been solid this spring at No. 1 singles, posting an 8-5 dual record. Jelena Lazarevic, Sophie van den Aarssen and Saroop Dhatt each post 6-8 duel records as well. Lazarevic and van den Aarssen have also teamed up at No. 1 doubles to post an 8-4 overall record, including a 4-1 mark in WCC action.
The bottom of Portland's lineup has battled injuries as sophomores Tori Troesch and Emily Gould have both missed matches this year.
The Pilots will look to gain some momentum this weekend before heading to the WCC Tennis Championships April 23-26 in San Diego.
