PORTLAND, Ore. – The Portland Pilots women's tennis team swept the Loyola Marymount Lions by a 4-0 margin on Saturday at the Louisiana-Pacific Tennis Center.

The Pilots (5-11, 2-4 WCC) secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. The freshman tandem of Radina Dimitrova and Tatiana Grigoryan cruised to a 6-1 decision at No. 2 doubles. LMU then won at No. 3, setting up the deciding match at the No. 1 spot. Portland seniors Lucia Butkovska and Tori Troesch won the final three games for a 7-5 victory to clinch the point.

Singles went Portland's way as well with the Pilots gaining an early second point when Kristine Kouyoumjian retired after falling being 3-0 in the first set to Dimitrova.

Senior Maja Mladenovic made it 3-0 Pilots with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 3 singles over Andrea Crespo. Butkovska then provided the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Jessica Perez at the No. 1 spot.

Portland will return for its third home match in three days when the Colorado Buffaloes visit for a non-conference match on Sunday at 10 a.m. It will be Senior Day and the final home match of the season for the Pilots who will honor the team's seven seniors prior to the start of doubles play.
