SEATTLE, Wash. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team spent last weekend on Lake Union, scrimmage NCAA Division II national power Western Washington. The Pilots sent three eights to Seattle, and a pair of fours.
Â
"It was great to do some race pieces with Western Washington University," said Portland head coach Pasha Spencer. "WWU is competitive every year and has a history of winning the NCAA DII Championships from 2005-2011. It was beneficial for the team to practice traveling, competing and getting times on a lake."
Â
The Pilots and Vikings did 800 meter pieces on Friday and five minute pieces on Saturday while in Seattle.
Â
This weekend the Pilots return to the Emerald City for the Husky Open, which is scheduled for Saturday.
