PORTLAND, Ore. --- The Portland Pilots women's rowing team will host Saint Mary's and Seattle U at Vancouver Lake this weekend for the 2019 UP Invite, which is slated for Saturday morning. The invite features four races, with the varsity eight going first at 9:15 a.m.
All three schools will have a crew in the varsity eight race, with Portland's boat featuring Miranda Reyes as the coxswain and Lauren Jesse rowing stroke. The Pilots' varsity eight is the reigning WCC Crew of the Month.
Up next are the second eights, which will include just Portland and Saint Mary's. The varsity four and novice four races will also only feature the Pilots and Gaels. Emma Papenhausen is the coxswain for the second eight and Megan Del Pozzi will be in the stroke seat. The two fours will be coxed by Allison Pallazzotto and Theresa Shrew, while Meredith Marcinko and Katie Bayford will be rowing stroke.
All four Portland boats are coming off solid performances at last weekend's Covered Bridge Regatta on Dexter Lake. At the regatta, the varsity and second eights both won silver, the novice four won bronze, and the varsity four won the petite final.
