DEXTER LAKE, Ore. --- The Portland women's rowing team competed at the Covered Bridge Regatta on Saturday morning at Dexter Lake, where the Pilots collected five podium finishes during a busy day of racing. Portland's varsity and second eights both won silver, the second and novice fours each won bronze, and the varsity four won the petite final.

Portland's second eight began the day by finishing second in their morning heat before winning silver in the final. With Emma Papenhausen as the coxswain and Megan Del Pozzi rowing stroke, the Pilots covered the 2000 meter course in a time of 7:15.310, which was second only to Oregon State.

The varsity eight also placed second in their heat, and they also finished behind Oregon State to win silver in the grand final. Lauren Jesse was rowing stroke for the Pilots, and Miranda Reyes was the coxswain as the Pilots posted a time of 7:01.160.

Portland's novice crew was the first of the fours to hit the water, and they qualified for the grand final with Theresa Shew in the cox seat and Katie Bayford at stroke. The Pilots then took the bronze medal by recording a time of 8:39.270 in the final. Oregon State was first, and Seattle Pacific finished second.

The second four finished third in the morning heat before placing third in the final, and their time of 8:29.970 was good enough for the bronze. Portland's boat was coxed by Joselene Piedra Rodriguez and featured Lauren Yee rowing stroke. Oregon State finished on top of the field again with Seattle Pacific taking second place.

Portland's varsity four concluded the day by winning their petite final. Allison Palazzotto was the coxswain for the Pilots, and Lauren Formigli was in the stroke seat, and the Pilots were 36 seconds clear of second-place Oregon.

The Pilots next host Saint Mary's and Seattle U on Saturday, April 13, on Vancouver Lake.
