LAKEWOOD, Wash. – The Portland Pilots rowing team had a strong start to their fall season, taking first in both of their varsity eight races and taking three of the top four spots in varsity four races at the American Lake Fall Classic in Lakewood, Wash.

The Pilots took first in their varsity eight race with a time of 19:31.2, defeating both Seattle Pacific and Pacific Lutheran. For the second varsity eight race, Portland once again beat Seattle Pacific as well as Pacific University with a time of 20:52.9. Seattle Pacific took first in the varsity four races, but all three varsity four boats for the Pilots took the next three spots.
