SPOKANE, Wash. – Portland freshman Iye Onoja partnered with Kylie Canubida for a pair of doubles wins and then earned an afternoon singles victory to highlight the opening day of the Gonzaga Invitational Friday at the Stevens Center.

Onoja and Canubida knocked won their opening match and then defeated a tandem from Gonzaga to reach Saturday's semifinals of the Blue Draw. In the singles White Draw, Onoja defeated Savannah Johnson of Gonzaga in straight sets.

Rimona Rouf also advanced with a three-set win over Idaho's Diana Khaydarshina in the topflight singles Gold Draw. Aleksandra Dimitrijevic also picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win against Momoko Yoshimura in the Blue Draw to move on.

The tournament continues on Saturday and will conclude with the finals on Sunday. All matches will have live video coverage via GoZags.com and the tournament draws are available here.
