Portland women's tennis standout Iva Zelic garnered West Coast Conference Player of the Week honors for singles, the league office announced on Tuesday. Zelic helped the Pilots earn a road sweep of Idaho and Eastern Washington to run the team's win streak to four matches.
Playing at the No. 1 position, Zelic recorded a 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 victory against Valentina Rodas in Portland's 5-2 win at Idaho on Saturday.
She then cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win against Scout Mathews of Eastern Washington in the team's 6-1 victory on Sunday.
Portland's four-match win streak is the longest since the 2019 season and the team will look to extend that on Sunday when the Idaho State Bengals visit for a 10 a.m. start. Live video and scoring will be available at PortlandPilots.com.
