SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Sally Pethybridge and Alaia Rubio Perez will represent Portland women's tennis at the prestigious Battle in the Bay Classic this week at the California Tennis Club. The event features 32-player draws in singles and 16-team draws in doubles with some of the top talent in the country competing.

The tournament begins for the Pilot duo will doubles action on Thursday at 10 a.m. against the No. 43-ranked Oklahoma State tandem of Gracie Epps and Marcella Lopez.

Singles play starts on Thursday afternoon with Rubio Perez facing Aya El Sayed of Colorado at noon. Pethybridge will take on USC's Parker Fry at 5 p.m.
