GOLD RIVER, Calif. – The Portland Pilots took eighth overall at the 2025 WCC Rowing Championships, winning the second varsity eight petite final on Saturday. The Pilots finished second in the petite finals for the first varsity four and first varsity eight and finished fifth in the second varsity four grand final.
Mia Kilmister and Kate Feustel each earned All-Conference honors for the Pilots. This is the first selection for Feustel and the second for Kilmister. Both Pilots earned All-WIRA honors earlier this year and were both All-WCC Preseason Team selections.
The win for the Pilots in the second varsity eight petite final is the first win the Pilots have ever had at the WCC Championships. They finished with a time of 7:16.940, keeping the same lineup as Friday with Clarissa Gutierreaz as the coxswain and Mina Mihajlovic as the stroke.
The second varsity four started the racing, being the only Pilot boat in a grand final after finishing second on Friday. They took fifth with a time of 8:32.254, with Bella Valenzuela as the coxswain and Madi Franco as the stroke. The first varsity four finished second in the petite final soon after with a time of 8:16.852, with Natalie Petty as the coxswain and Averie Zealley as the stroke.
After the win for the second varsity eight, the first varsity eight finished off the season in the petite final. They posted a time of 7:04.616 with Leahbelle Paladino as the coxswain and Kate Feustel as the stroke. They finished eighth overall.
