PULLMAN, Wash. – Portland women's tennis gets the fall season underway this weekend at the Cougar Classic, held Friday through Sunday at the WSU Outdoor Tennis Courts.

Joining the Pilots in the seven-team event will be host Washington State, along with Eastern Washington, Gonzaga, Idaho, Lewis-Clark State and Montana.

The tournament will be played in a mini dual format with two players from a school paired together to compete in a doubles match and two singles matches against another two-person team. The team that wins two of the three points advances in the bracket. There will be three draws, an A, B and C. The A and B draws feature two Pilot tandems each.

Matches will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each of the three days. Draws are expected to be announced Thursday evening.
