BOZEMAN, Mont. - Havannah Hoeft and Taina Kaauwai made All-Tournament Team for the Bobcat Invite hosted by Montana State. This is Hoeft's third time making All-Tournament this season and Kaauwai's second time making All-Tournament.
Setter Hoeft had 62 assists, 10 kills and 21 digs this weekend. Hoeft had a match high across both teams of 11 digs at the North Dakota State match. In the same match she had a hitting percentage of .500 with four kills. She also had a match high against Montana State with 10 digs. Hoeft is currently ranked fourth in the WCC in assists per set (9.88).
Kaauwai recorded 18 kills, one service ace, five total blocks and a combined hitting percentage of .460 this weekend. She had a match high hitting percentage of .545 against North Dakota State and surpassed 150 career digs at the match against Montana State. Kaauwai went into the weekend as leader in the WCC in hitting percentage at .514.
Portland finished the weekend with one win and one loss. The Pilots fell to the North Dakota State Bison in three sets (25-21, 25-22, 25-16) on Friday and took victory over the Montana State Bobcats in four sets (24-26, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23) on Saturday.
Portland Volleyball has their next match on Thursday, Sept. 17 against the Cal State Bakersfield Roadrunners at the Eastern Washington Volleyball Tournament in Cheney, Wash. The match is at 3 p.m. at Reese Court. For more coverage and info, visit PortlandPilots.com.
