PORTLAND, Ore. --- Jacobo Reyes (Monterrey, Mexico), who's a midfielder/forward for C.F. Monterrey, has signed a National Letter of Intent and will be joining the University of Portland Men's Soccer program, announced head coach Nick Carlin-Voigt. Reyes has extensive experience in both the U.S. and Mexico National Team systems.
Â
"We are thrilled to sign another talented young American attacker," said Carlin-Voigt. "Jacobo has diverse international experience at the U-17, U-18 and U-20 National Team level. Jacobo is a humble and driven young man who is very excited about representing the Portland Pilots as he continues to develop and improve in our system. Jacobo has a skill set as a quick hybrid attacker that will allow him to play wide and also be versatile enough to come inside and find the ball in pockets centrally to help drive our attack forward. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Jacobo to our program and know he will take full advantage of the opportunity presented."
Â
Reyes has played with the U.S. Men's U-14, U-17, and U-20 National Teams, and he's spent time with Mexico's U-15's and U-17's. He also played at the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, seeing time in fixtures against India and Colombia. Most recently, Reyes was part of the U.S. National Team U-20's provisional roster for the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Â
With C.F. Monterrey, Reyes helped his club win the U-17 Championship.
